Lanzarote feels the force of the Atlantic storm

In Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote, 35 litres of rain per square metre per hour have caused significant flooding in various areas of the city, as shown in the images accompanying this article, where one of the access roads to Arrecife is completely submerged in water.

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) maintained warnings for rain and storms today, but the situation is expected to improve from tomorrow. The presence of a storm in the Canary Islands has caused some emergency incidents, mostly minor, such as small rock and soil slides and water pumping, but not in all parts of the archipelago.

The area of Titerroy, to the north of Arrecife, experienced total flooding, as did many streets throughout the capital, with Calle Portugal standing out in particular.
