A resident of Las Coloradas in Playa Blanca has raised concerns about a pedestrian crossing being obstructed by construction works on Calle Las Acacias, an issue that has persisted for more than three months.

According to the complaint, building materials left on the pavement are blocking the walkway.

Pedestrians, including those with pushchairs or wheelchairs, are being forced to either cut through a nearby garden or step directly onto the road, putting their safety at risk.

The matter has already been reported to Yaiza Town Hall via the Línea Verde app, but the neighbour claims no response or solution has been provided so far. She criticised what she sees as a lack of action from the authorities and a reluctance to hold the construction company responsible.

The resident is calling for urgent intervention to ensure accessibility and safety are restored in this busy part of Playa Blanca.

This is not the first time that accessibility issues have been reported in Lanzarote. In previous years, residents in Costa Teguise and Arrecife also complained about pavements being obstructed by long-running construction works or parked vehicles, with some cases taking several months to be resolved.

In certain instances, action was only taken after repeated complaints to the local council or coverage in the local press, highlighting what many see as a slow response to matters that directly affect public safety and mobility.
