Carrefour has issued a precautionary recall of one of its best-selling pedestal fans after identifying a potential safety risk during use. The affected product is the Klindo KCSF17-23 fan, which may develop wear on the central cable cover when operating in oscillating mode, creating the possibility of a fault.

The recall applies specifically to units with serial numbers beginning 2210, 2211, 2212, 2301, 2302, 2303, or 2304, and carrying the barcode 3616479607663.

Carrefour is urging anyone who has purchased one of the affected fans to stop using it immediately and return it to their nearest Carrefour store for a full refund.

Carrefour has stressed that the recall applies only to this model and the specified serial numbers. All other fans in the Klindo range remain safe to use.

For further assistance, customers can contact Carrefour’s customer service team either in-store or by calling 914 90 89 00.

This recall comes at a time when Spain has seen several product withdrawals in recent months, including well-known sun creams and hair care products.

The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) ordered the immediate removal of ten sunscreen products from the Parasol brand due to potential microbiological contamination. Use of these products could cause skin irritation or infection, particularly if applied near the eyes or on broken skin.

In addition, European health agencies have raised concerns over certain hair-straightening treatments containing glyoxylic acid, which have been linked to serious health risks, prompting wider consumer warnings across the cosmetics industry.
