A serious accident involving eight vehicles, late on Friday night on the TF-1 motorway in San Miguel in the south of Tenerife one junction from the airport, left four people injured, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident took place at 11:50pm at kilometre 63 by the new junction for Las Chafiras. Upon receiving an alert, CECOES dispatched the relevant emergency resources to the location, where they found eight vehicles in various states of damage from the accident, and the four injured occupants.
Medical personnel attended to the injured reporting that three of them had suffered minor injuries and the fourth suffered a moderate chest contusion. This person was taken to Hospiten Sur by ambulance for routine observation.
Meanwhile, the Guardia Civil secured the area while the fire brigade made sure the damaged vehicles were safe to move so that normal traffic flow could be restored as quickly as possible. A report is being done on the cause of the accident.
