Road worker dies after being hit by car whilst working on the TF-1 motorway
A motorway maintenance worker has died after being struck by a car whilst working on the northbound carriageway of the TF-1 near Caleta Punta Prieta by Guimar, in Tenerife.
The incident, which happened on Tuesday evening, was reported by the Canary Islands Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
SUC paramedics arrived at the scene but were unable to save the victim, confirming that he died from fatal injuries suffered in the accident.
Teams from the Tenerife Island Council’s Road Maintenance Department also attended the scene to clear the roadway. Meanwhile, officers from the Canary Islands Police and the Guardia Civil carried out the necessary investigations to determine the circumstances of the accident.
Authorities have yet to release further details on the cause of the incident or the identity of the victim.
