A man is in critical condition after suffering a heart attack this morning (Wednesday), while driving his car in Adeje in the south of Tenerife.
According to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES), the incident occurred around 10:30am which is when they received an alert about a driver who had lost consciousness at the entrance to Calle Tagara in Los Olivos.
Fortunately, a trained medic happened to be nearby, and he immediately began CPR and used a defibrillator from a nearby Local Police office to try and revive the victim. A doctor was also nearby and he assisted the medic until emergency personnel arrived.
Shortly after an ambulance arrived at scene and paramedics took over, performing advanced resuscitation procedures that successfully revived the man.
Once stabilised, he was transported in critical condition to Hospital del Sur in a SUC medicalised ambulance where he was admitted for further treatment.
The swift intervention of bystanders and emergency personnel played a crucial role in saving the man’s life, highlighting the importance of immediate medical assistance in cardiac emergencies.
