Police arrest five people in Tenerife for assaulting a tourist

The National Police have arrested five people in Tenerife, following an attack on a tourist in Puerto de la Cruz. The incident occurred when a 53-year-old German man was returning to his hotel and was confronted by a group of five individuals who stole various belongings from him, inflicted injuries, and left him suffering from anxiety.

The victim was assisted by a National Police patrol, which called for medical assistance at the scene while gathering information about the assailants. Based on the victim's statement and eyewitness accounts, a search operation was launched to locate the attackers.

Identification and Arrest of the Suspected Perpetrators in Tenerife

Thanks to the swift intervention of the officers, in coordination with the Local Police, private security personnel, and assistance from the public, the suspects were identified at the town’s bus station. The group consisted of five young people, including two teenagers and a woman. In addition to robbing the tourist, they had also vandalised a vending machine at the bus station.

During the arrest, officers recovered various stolen items belonging to the victim, including his documents and mobile phone. The five detainees were handed over to the appropriate judicial authorities to await sentencing.
