The Local Police of Arona have confirmed a violent mugging in Playa Las Burras in Las Galletas, near the Red Cross office. The victim, a French tourist, who was attacked during the night by a group operating in the area and left nearly naked, but escaped across rocks to get away.
The holidaymaker managed to escape his assailants, but in the process, he lost most of his belongings and was left only with his wallet and personal documents while being nearly stripped of all his clothing.
With no means of immediate communication, he was forced to spend the night outdoors, and at dawn, he was finally able to contact the Local Police to report the theft of his mobile phone.

Sources speaking exclusively to Sol del Sur described the victim as a polite and well-mannered individual who fell prey to “unscrupulous criminals” known to operate on the coats between Playa Las Burras and the Punta Rasca Lighthouse.
Authorities have proposed that the Arona Town Council install warning signs in the area, advising visitors to take extra precautions. This measure is commonly applied in other international tourist destinations. "Safety must be a priority," an official source said, highlighting the need for increased surveillance to curb rising crime in the region.

The police had to physically carry the injured tourist on their shoulders after he sustained severe injuries to his feet while fleeing from his attackers across rocks and rough terrain.
