The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) are generally forecasting better weather for today, Sunday, although there will be some cloudy skies and occasional light rain in various parts of the Canary Islands, despite active weather warnings.
The yellow weather warnings issued by AEMET for this weekend remain in place for sea conditions and wind with force 3 to 5 north-westerly winds expected, with areas in the northeast and southwest reaching force 6.
The sea state will be very rough in these areas, with a north-westerly ground swell of up to 5 metres and occasional showers.
Island-by-Island Forecast for Sunday 9th March:
LANZAROTE:
The island will experience cloudy conditions in the early and late hours, with intervals of cloudiness throughout the day. There is only a low probability of light, scattered, and occasional showers. Temperatures will remain stable, and a moderate northwest wind with strong inland intervals is expected.
Expected temperature range: 15°C (min) - 23°C (max).
FUERTEVENTURA:
Cloudy skies on the western slopes in the early and late hours, with large clearings expected during the central part of the day. Light, occasional, and scattered rain is a possibility. Temperatures will see little change, and moderate northwest winds with strong gusts inland around midday are forecast.

GRAN CANARIA:
Predominantly cloudy skies with a likelihood of light rain in the north during the morning. Scattered showers may also occur in eastern inland areas this afternoon. The southern and western slopes are expected to clear up for the second half of the day. Temperatures will largely remain unchanged, except for slight decreases on the southern slopes. Winds will be light to moderate from the west or northwest.

TENERIFE:
The northern slopes of Tenerife will see cloudy skies with occasional light rain. Elsewhere on the island, cloudy intervals and potential precipitation, particularly in the east of the island during the afternoon, are expected. The summit of Teide will remain clear. Temperatures will remain steady, with slight decreases on the southern slopes and slight increases in the northern midlands. A light to moderate north-westerly wind will prevail, with strong intervals along the southwest coasts. On the central peaks, very strong gusts from the west are likely.
