The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) reported an outbreak of forest fire yesterday evening (Tuesday), in the area of Finca Caldera del Rey in Adeje, caused by the fall of a high voltage cable.
Firemen from the forest brigades and the Tenerife Fire Service Consortium were dispatched to the area to contain it, minimise the damage, and extinguish it as quickly as possible.
At 11.24pm last night, the Tenerife Cabildo reported through its Twitter account that the outbreak of fire was considered "controlled" with minimal damage to the area due to the good work of the fire brigade.
An investigation in to how the high voltage cable came down in the first place is underway.
