The Canary Islands are forecast to experience a day of unsettled weather today, Saturday, with strong winds and occasional light rain expected in several areas of the archipelago.
According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the day will be marked by predominantly cloudy skies in the north of the mountainous islands, with intermittent local showers particularly likely in inland areas, whereas the south coasts should be clear and sunny.
Elsewhere in the archipelago, including Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, occasional scattered showers are also forecast, although they are expected to be light. These weather conditions will be accompanied by moderate winds from the northeast, increasing in strength throughout the day, particularly along the southeast and northwest slopes of the mountainous islands.
Stronger gusts may also affect the peaks and mid-altitude areas of southern La Gomera and Gran Canaria during the latter half of the day. While temperatures will remain largely stable, a moderate drop in maximum temperatures is anticipated in mid- and high-altitude regions.
