Three people were injured on Friday afternoon after a car veered off the road and rolled over near the coastline in the municipality of Arico, on the east coast of Tenerife.
One of the occupants, the driver, had to be rescued after becoming trapped inside the vehicle.
The incident occurred at around 4:25p.m. on Avenida Punto Los Surcos. The Canary Islands Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) received an alert reporting the accident, requesting urgent assistance to free the trapped passenger.
Firefighters carried out the rescue operation, safely extracting the driver from the wreckage, who was treated by paramedics at the scene for a leg injury before being transported by medical ambulance to the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria University Hospital in for further treatment.
Two other passengers were also treated by SUC personnel for minor injuries and taken to the same hospital for routine observation.
Local Police officers were also present at the scene and took charge of filing the official accident report. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
