Two men were seriously injured yesterday (Friday) after two vehicles collided on the TF-1 motorway in the south of Tenerife by junction 57 for San Isidro within the municipality of Granadilla de Abona.
According to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) report, they received an alert informing them of the accident and that one of the drivers was trapped inside his car, so they dispatched the fire brigade, police, ambulances, and highway services immediately to the scene.
When they got there, firemen secured the vehicle and freed the trapped driver so that he could receive urgent medical assistance for various injuries from the crash, before he was taken to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital for further treatment.
Paramedics also treated a second man for head injuries before taking him to the San Isidro Medical Centre for precautionary observation.
Finally, the Guardia Civil made the corresponding report to determine the cause of the accident, while personnel from the Highway Maintenance Services were in charge of clearing and cleaning the road.
