The Ministry of Education for the Canary Islands has issued an order for the closure of a school in the south of Tenerife, the Infant and primary education centre (CEIP) in Guía de Isora. This was announced in a decree published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) yesterday, Thursday, and is based on the need for public educational centres to optimise the use of available resources.
The closure of the ‘Vera de Erques’ primary school in Guía de Isora has been justified in the search for a more effective use of both human and material resources. Students currently enrolled in this school will be transferred to other local schools that have adequate capacity, while the affected teaching staff will be treated in accordance with current labour laws.
