The Guardia Civil have arrested a 45-year-old man for stealing a tourist's wallet at Tenerife South Airport, just after the tourist had arrived on the island and was waiting for a bus to take him to his accommodation.
The holidaymaker noticed that his wallet, containing 1,000 euros in cash, several bank cards, and his documentation, had disappeared, so he immediately reported it to officers at the airport.
After investigating the circumstances and studying CCTV footage from cameras at the airport, they obtained sufficient evidence and were able to identify the alleged perpetrator, who has numerous police records for similar crimes in and around the main tourist areas on the island.
The detainee and the relevant reports have been forwarded to the Judicial Authority of the Court of Granadilla de Abona.
