The island of El Hierro only has a population of just over 11,000 people, and one of them thanks to last night’s Bonoloto draw is now two million euros better off after the winning ticket was announced to have been bought on the island.
According to Bonoloto, only one person in the whole of Spain matched all six numbers, and that person got their ticket at a tiny outlet in Frontera in El Hierro.
The winning numbers for the draw, Wednesday 18th January 2023, were 6 – 7 – 9 – 29 – 30 – 36, with the bonus ball being number 17, and the refund number 6 (you get your ticket money back).
In total, the jackpot was 2,002,322.57 euros, which is waiting to be claimed by someone from the small island, not bad for a ticket costing 50 cents!
