New forest fire breaks out in Tenerife

The Tenerife Cabildo has reported that a fire has broken out on the Camino Guillén in La Esperanza in the north of Tenerife. The Emergency Services have reacted quickly as they are currently on high alert for forest fires due to the weather conditions, with Brifor teams already at the scene.

Ground crews, consisting of firefighters, the police, and forestall agents, are already fighting the blaze, assisted by two helicopters that are dumping as much water on the site as possible.

The EIRIF helicopter units based in La Gomera, La Palma, and El Hierro, have all been activated and requested to fly to Tenerife as soon as possible to help with extinguishing it.
