The Los Cristianos Carnival finished in style this year with a massive daytime parade on Sunday with over 1,800 participants, the first one since the pandemic, with 37 musical groups, dance groups, and hundreds in fancy dress on floats full of rhythm and fantasy.
More than 10,000 residents and tourists enjoyed the party atmosphere and admired the design work of all the costumes and imaginations of the different carnival groups.
The parade started at Avenida Juan Carlos I and threaded through the streests of Los Cristianos to finish at the Cultural Centre in the main event area of this year’s carnival, a route of almost two kilometres in which they did not stop dancing and encouraging the people watching to join in.
The main arena for the carnival in the centre of Los Cristianos has almost 50 years of history, and has become the most crowded arena in the south of Tenerife for any carnival, and is a great tourist attraction that attracts a large number of visitors each year eager to witness the International Carnival first hand.
This year, thousands of people have travelled to the municipality during carnival dates, which has almost filled hotels in the area to 100% occupancy.
Once the parade reached its destination, the party continued with performances by Tropin and The Boys Machine orchestras, the last 'great dance' of the Los Cristianos Carnival, which finally said goodbye last night (Monday) with the traditional Burial of the Sardine.
