All accesses to the Teide National Park are closed because of the weather

The Department of Mobility and Roads for the Tenerife Cabildo closed all access roads to the Teide National Park today (Sunday) due to the presence of snow and sheet ice on the road, as reported by the Department for Emergencies and Safety.

Specifically, the La Orotave access via the TF-21 has been closed due to the steep climb, as has the TF-24 through La Esperanza. Road users can get real-time updates by following them on Twitter to find out when they are reopened.

MORE FROST AND ICE TOMORROW:
The cold in the Canary Islands will continue for at least one more day tomorrow (Monday), according to the  AEMET forecast, which shows mostly cloudy skies for all of the islands.

They are also forecasting more rain tomorrow afternoon, mainly on the northern slopes of the more mountainous islands, with some local downpours, and frosts at peaks with a cold north wind.

There will also be a light haze tomorrow in the easternmost islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura which will start to subside in the afternoon.
