A 48-year-old man has been arrested walking through a restricted area of the forest within the police boundaries and in an evacuation zone of the fire, in Tacaronte in the north of Tenerife.
The Guardia Civil spotted him in the Agua García area of the municipality, which is still one of the locations where people have not returned to their homes yet, so started to approach him.
When he noticed the presence of the agents he tried to run away, but the police managed to stop him. Protocol dictates that the officers must officially identify someone if they detain them before they can proceed with any booking or warning.
When they registered his details, it came back that he had an active search and arrest warrant against him issued by Court No. 2 of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, for which he was immediately arrested and taken into custody.
