An 84-year-old man has been injured in a car accident in Icod de Los Vinos in the north of Tenerife after he left the road and rolled his car needing to be freed by the fire brigade as he was trapped inside.
According to the emergency services, the incident occurred at around 2:15pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday) on the Camino Lomo Acevedo, after the elderly driver rounded a corner too fast, lost control, and left the road.
When the fire brigade arrived, they secured the vehicle after it had overturned on a slope, and then released the man from inside it so that he could be treated by paramedics before being taken to the Hospital del Norte for further treatment.
No one else was involved or injured in the incident.
