VIDEO: They crash car while recording a live video for TikTok

Road accidents are one of the main causes of death in Spain, and according to the DGT, 30% of them are due to being distracted when driving, especially by using mobile phones. A new video highlighting this has gone viral after a group of young women were involved in an accident whilst filming themselves on TikTok.

The front passenger was recording the video of the five occupants of the car, including the driver, singing a song by the reggaeton artist Feid, when the driver lost control of the car because she was looking at the screen of the phone, not the road.

As you can see in the video, even the screams of the passengers couldn’t prevent the crash in which the car hit the kerb and rolled over.

Fortunately, none of them were seriously hurt in the accident, however, the attitude of the driver was very concerning as instead of asking if all her friends were okay, she was more worried about the fact that it was her father’s car, demonstrating a lack of responsibility and empathy for the safety of those involved in the accident.

Although this is an extreme example of how mobile phone use while driving can have tragic consequences, it is clear that instead of seeking attention on social media, we should prioritize road safety and take steps to reduce distractions, like turning off your phone while driving or using apps that block notifications.

Road safety is the responsibility of all drivers and passengers. We must be responsible and respect traffic regulations to prevent accidents that may endanger our lives and that of others. Mobile phone use while driving is a dangerous distraction and should be avoided at all costs.
