In the first seven months of 2022, Maritime Rescue and the Red Cross dealt with the arrival of 212 boats, whereas so far this year 165 boats have made a successful crossing.

Separate from these statistics, the archipelago began the month of August with the arrival of a cayuco in El Hierro yesterday (Wednesday) with 42 occupants on board, which was intercepted one mile west of La Restinga.
