The Tenerife Cabildo have confirmed that they plan to open the newly constructed roundabout on the TF-652 in Guargacho tomorrow, which deals with traffic passing through the municipalities of San Miguel de Abona and Arona.
This road is vital, connecting Las Chafiras to Las Galletas and providing access to Costa del Silencio, Las Rosas, Guargacho, and Oroteanda Baja. The investment in this project has been more than half a million euros.
The Minister of Roads, Dámaso Arteaga, said in a statement that the opening of this new roundabout will significantly improve access to the industrial areas in the south. He also emphasized that this infrastructure will play a crucial role in optimizing mobility and traffic safety in the region.
The project is expected to be completed in January, with further plans to install street lighting, implement new safety barriers, and improve sidewalks and pedestrian areas, as reported by the institution.
However, it is important to note that the Cabildo continues to work on improvements for TF-652 and TF-653 roads. For the TF-652, works will include partial removal and pavement renewal, as well as enhancing road safety through widening hard shoulders, particularly in La Estrella.
Regarding the TF-653, which connects Guargacho and Palm-Mar, in addition to pavement improvements, there are plans to widen hard shoulders and install metal safety barriers, especially crucial to prevent accidents with significant elevation changes.
Arteaga has requested understanding from road users passing through Palm-Mar, as works in this section are being carried out with traffic lights regulation and require patience until completion.
