Man in serious condition after being rescued from the sea with signs of drowning

A 45-year-old man was rushed to hospital in serious condition after being rescued from the sea off the coast of Yaiza, Lanzarote, showing signs of drowning, according to a report by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

The incident occurred around 5:00pm yesterday afternoon (Sunday) when an alert was raised indicating that a boat was heading towards Marina Rubicón port with a person onboard in cardiorespiratory arrest.

The affected person apparently fell off the boat into the water, prompting his friends to perform CPR to try and resuscitate him while navigating back to the port.

Upon arrival at Marina Rubicón, paramedics took over and continued the resuscitation efforts and immediately transported him by ambulance to Hospital Molina Orosa where he is receiving urgent treatment after being revived.

The Local Police and Guardia Civil officers were also dispatched to the scene to assist with the incident and coordinate the transfer of the affected man.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the exact cause of the accident.
