Latest forecast shows the haze subsiding but the strong winds and rain returning

The latest weather forecast for today (Tuesday) from AEMET, the State Meteorological Agency, shows a weather warning for strong winds activated in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, as the haze is starting to lift, maximum temperatures are dropping, and some rain is returning to peaks and summits in the more mountainous islands.

AEMET says that the northeast wind and the reestablishment of the trade wind will lead to a notable decrease in maximum temperatures, which will return to the average for the time of year, starting in the early hours of this morning.

They also highlight that some rain will return to parts of the islands, mainly at altitude, but will only be in the form of light showers early in the morning, and later at night today (Tuesday), as well as on Wednesday and Thursday.
