Is the end of mandatory masks in chemists and hospitals imminent?

The new Minister of Health for Spain, José Miñones, has announced that there will be a meeting of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health Service at the end of June, to discuss dropping the mandatory use of masks in medical centres, hospitals, and pharmacies.

These are the only places where they have to still be worn across Spain, including the Canary Islands, although he has emphasized that ultimately the decision will be made by the data and experts from the Health Alerts and Emergencies Coordination Centre.

Many people are complaining about having to still wear masks in these environments, but Miñones said in an interview on National Radio, "This protocol is still in place, and we have to make any decision rigorously, you have to take it seriously. The experts and advisors will be the ones to guide the withdrawal process if it is decided to remove them, whether that is immediately or in stages".
