Police are investigating the discovery of a man's body near the TF-1 motorway in the municipality of Arico, on the east coast of Tenerife. The body, with clear signs of violence, was discovered on Monday by agents from the Human Crimes Unit of the Guardia Civil's Judicial Police.
According to sources, the man appeared to have been bound, and his remains were located near the La Listada neighbourhood. The exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, but investigators are operating under a secrecy order and are treating the case as a potential murder.
This incident comes just six months after the dismembered body of Belgian woman Laura Gaston, a resident of Callao Salvaje in Adeje, was found in a nearby area.
The proximity of the two discoveries has raised concerns among locals as her husband, Marc Francis, is still missing, although no direct link between the two cases has been confirmed at this stage.
Investigations are ongoing.
