Mondelēz International has announced the immediate withdrawal of a batch of Fontaneda Pim’s Orange biscuits, the same as what are known as Jaffa cakes in the UK, after detecting the possible presence of metal particles in a small number of units.
The affected batch is OHT1153212, with a best-before date of 30th April 2026 and barcode 7622201639815.
According to the company, this issue is limited strictly to the specified batch, and no other Fontaneda products sold by Mondelēz España are involved.
Consumer advice
Consumer Safety Association, FACUA, has urged anyone who has purchased these biscuits from a supermarket or minimarket in Spain or the Canary Islands not to consume them. Instead, they should be discarded immediately.
For those who wish to arrange a return or have questions, Mondelēz has set up a dedicated consumer service line on 900 963 248 (Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm), as well as a contact form available on its official website.
The company stressed that consumer safety remains its top priority and confirmed it is working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure the complete withdrawal of the affected products.
