A wet and chilly weekend in much of the Canary Islands

The weather forecast is very much anticipated this weekend as the capitals of the islands head toward the final days of Carnival. According to AEMET, this weekend will be very much like the last few days with maximum temperatures staying at around 22°C, but minimums dropping at night to make it chillier than it has been.

It will be mostly cloudy and weak and occasional rains are forecast in inland areas in the afternoons, these being more likely in the central islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, where they are expected to be somewhat more intense and persistent.

The wind will be variable in strength and direction, and there will only be breezes on the south and southwest coasts in tourist areas. Sunset this weekend is timed for 7:03pm.
