The Vacuna Bus is coming to the south of Tenerife!

The Vacuna Bus is coming to the south of Tenerife!

Two weeks ago the Canaries Health Service (SCS) announced a new initiative in Tenerife and Gran Canaria, with two open-top buses converted to Vacuna Buses which are visiting various places in the islands to make it easier for anyone aged 12 or over to get their vaccination.

So far they have been very popular in both islands and have mainly been in Santa Cruz and Las Palmas areas, but now the one in Tenerife is heading south. This week the bus will be available for inoculation without an appointment between 10am and 2pm in the following areas of Tenerife:

- Today (Monday): Guimar port.

- Tuesday: El Medano.

- Wednesday: Valle San Lorenzo.

- Thursday: El Fraile.

- Friday: Armenime.

- Saturday: Los Cristianos (Las Vistas beach)

- Sunday: Playa San Juan.

The SCS have also announced that after two months the Pabellon Santiago Martin is now closed as a mass vaccination point after giving the final injection yesterday afternoon. In total they have administered over 100, 000 doses of Covid vaccines and the staff will now return to Candelaria Hospital.

They have informed that anyone awaiting their second jab will be advised of where they need to go instead, now that this centre is closed.

In Gran Canaria, the Vacuna Bus is in these locations this week:

- Today (Monday): CC Atlantico, Vecindario.

- Tuesday: Playa Del Ingles.

- Wednesday: Playa de Melenara (Telde).

- Thursday: CC Alcampo (Telde)

- Friday: Avda de Canarias, Vecindario.

- Saturday: Plaza de La Candelaria (Ingenio).

- Sunday: Playa de Arinaga (Aguimes)

Now try singing ‘The Vacuna Bus is coming’ to the tune of We Like To Party by the Vengaboys!!
