The Las Palmas City Council have confirmed that the 3 Kings will tour the city next Wednesday January 5th, covering the main five districts from 11.30am to 8pm. The day will start with Melchior, Gaspar and Baltasar receiving the key to the city from the mayor, Augusto Hidalgo.

It is usually the most anticipated day of the year for Spain’s children, with massive parades and millions of sweets given out, but after almost two years of pandemic, their arrival at the Puerto de La Luz will only be able to be seen on Canarian Television at 11 o’clock.

After meeting the mayor, Melchior, Gaspar and Baltasar will get into their three vehicles to start the tour that will take them through the main roads and avenues of the different districts of the capital, led by a float surrounded by local firemen and a police escort.

They will divide the route starting in the lower part of the city in the morning, from 11:30am to 3pm, and later visiting the upper districts in the afternoon and evening from 4pm to 8pm, taking the following route:

At no point will the procession make any stops during the route, but it will go at a leisurely pace so that it can be easily seen by passers-by. The organization insists on calling for responsibility and reminds that the use of masks outdoors is mandatory, as is the maintenance of social distancing.

The next day, after an intense night distributing gifts, the Three Wise Men and their fellow travellers will once again tour the capital's neighbourhoods on a Royal Route that will put an end to a year that is once again marked by the pandemic.
