Residents across the Canary Islands have another opportunity to cut the cost of replacing an old fridge, washing machine or other household appliance, with a new release of discount vouchers scheduled for today, Monday 19th October.
This is the third round of the regional Plan Renove scheme, which supports the purchase of more energy-efficient appliances through participating shops such as Worten.
The maximum discount is €450, although the amount available depends on the appliance, its energy rating and whether the applicant qualifies for the higher support offered to vulnerable consumers.
How much could you receive?
For qualifying models with the highest eligible efficiency rating, the maximum discounts are:
|
Appliance |
Standard support |
Vulnerable consumers |
|
Fridge-freezer |
€250 |
€450 |
|
Dishwasher |
€180 |
€330 |
|
Washing machine |
€120 |
€230 |
|
Tumble dryer |

€140 |
Lower amounts apply to some other eligible energy ratings. Applicants can replace up to five appliances, with a maximum of one from each category.
Apply before buying
Applications are made through the official Plan Renove platform.
The voucher must be obtained before the purchase. Once approved, customers present their code at a participating retailer, which checks it and deducts the support directly from the bill.
The retailer must also arrange the removal and appropriate recycling of the appliance being replaced.
A 15-day deadline
Approved vouchers must be used within 15 calendar days of issue, including weekends and bank holidays.
Any money reserved for a voucher that expires unused returns to the scheme for other applicants.
The programme has 217 participating retailers across the islands. By 15th October, 4,547 vouchers worth €803,790 had been redeemed, while another 1,577 approved vouchers remained unused.
Support depends on the funds available for each island, so applicants should check the conditions and participating shops before committing to a purchase.
