The National Police have arrested a 37-year-old man in Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, for crime of serious threats with a knife. The receptionist of a hotel in Las Canteras confronted the man as other guests were complaining about the noise he made every night, and he responded by turning on the receptionist with a kitchen knife, threatening to kill him.
The events were triggered at dawn yesterday morning after the police received an emergency call from the receptionist of the hotel on Las Canteras beach reporting the incident.
He told the officers who came to the hotel, that he had been receiving complaints about the noise the man had been causing for several days, from the rest of the clients. The man responded by threatening to kill him with a kitchen knife, after which he returned to his room.
Police went to the man’s hotel room and found him there with the knife still in his pocket, so they confiscated it and immediately arrested him for his actions. The man has now been placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
