Man killed in accident between a moped and a car in Agüimes
A man was killed in an accident last night between a moped and a car at the access roundabout to the Playa de Vargas road, in the municipality of Agüimes, according to the emergency services in Gran Canaria.
The accident occurred at around 7:30pm and another man who was riding pillion on the scooter was also injured, and was transferred to the Hospital Insular de Gran Canaria by ambulance, with moderate injuries.
After receiving an alert about the accident, the Canary Islands Emergency Services sent two ambulances to the scene of the incident, but unfortunately paramedics could do nothing to save the man’s life due to the severity of his injuries.
The Guardia Civil are investigating the cause of the accident, but have confirmed that no other vehicles were involved or any other people were injured in tragic incident.
