Man arrested after threatening youngsters with a knife on Halloween night
The National Police arrested a 58-year-old man on Halloween night, (Sunday), in Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, accused of making threatening and chasing away a group of young teenagers with a knife who were playing in the street dressed up for ‘Trick or Treat’.
The arrest took place after the National Police were called by a member of the public who reported that a man, armed with a kitchen knife, was threatening a group of minors who were playing on Calle Gobernador Marín Acuña, and had to take refuge in a nearby shop to escape him, according to the press release from the police.
Several patrol vehicles were immediately dispatched to the scene, and after verifying what had happened and interviewing several witnesses, the agents proceeded to arrest the man, who already has a previous police record, and who was booed by neighbours as he was arrested, and taken to police headquarters.
The man and the report have been passed to the Judicial Authorities for processing and charging accordingly.
