With holidaymakers allowed back to the Islands to enjoy their time in the sun again, a photo is going viral on the internet, as after a tough 18 months of the pandemic, one driver in Gran Canaria clearly forgot how to drive “on the other side of the road.”
The unusual picture is from yesterday (Friday) at the Yumbo Shopping Centre in Playa del Inglés, when a confused tourist tried to access the underground parking by one of its staircases thinking that it was an access ramp for cars.
Unfortunately, the car got stuck on the stairs and the embarrassed driver had to wait for a recovery truck with a crane to lift it back up onto the road.
Luckily, the driver was able to get out of the car without any injuries, although the same can’t be said for the rent a car which was damaged in the incident. We’d like to hear him explaining that one to the hire car company!
