Mask-less man arrested for threatening people in the street and spitting at police

The National Police have arrested a 37 years old man in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for not wearing a mask in public, threatening passers-by, and serious disobedience to agents in authority.

The incident took place on Thursday when emergency services received a notification about a man without a mask on the corner of Calle León y Castillo with Carvajal causing inconvenience by shouting at people and threatening to hurt them if they didn’t take off their masks.

According to the National Police press release, officers were dispatched to the area and saw the man in question, so proceeded to ask him for his identification and for him to put on a mask.

However, the man ignored the repeated instructions of the agents, refusing to identify himself, refusing to put on a mask which are mandatory in public, and began to threaten the officers telling them he was going to kill them, and spat at them.

Due to this, agents had no choice but to arrest him and charge him for public disorder, serious disobedience to law enforcement officials and threats, and when they took him to the police station, found that he already 24 files on his police record.
