The Directorate General of Emergencies has lifted all wind alerts and pre-alerts across the Canary Islands as of 12:00 midday today, Sunday, following a clear improvement in weather conditions.
The alert for strong winds affecting the high areas and summits of La Palma, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria has been officially deactivated, along with the pre-alert that had remained in place for the rest of the archipelago.
In line with the improving situation, the Tenerife Cabildo has also ended the island’s Emergency Plan (PEIN), signalling the end of the recent period of meteorological instability that has impacted the Canaries in recent days.
According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the favourable evolution of the weather has made it possible to gradually restore normal conditions and lift the preventive measures that were introduced during the storm.
However, this doesn’t mean that there won’t be any rain or wind over the next few days, just not under storm warning conditions.
