A new incident on the TF-1 caused concern among motorists yesterday afternoon, Thursday, as a vehicle caught fire near the Güímar tunnels on the southbound carriageway of the Tenerife motorway.
The fire broke out at kilometre marker 24, just after the tunnel exit, creating large flames and a significant amount of black smoke.
Multiple calls were made to the Canary Islands Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES), which dispatched the relevant emergency services.
The fire brigade, the Canary Police, the Guardia Civil, and personnel from the Cabildo’s Road Maintenance Department worked together to control the situation, by ensuring the car was safe and the fire was extinguished, controlling traffic, and then clearing the road as quickly as possible.
Fortunately, according to reports from 112 Canarias, there are no one was injured in the incident.
