VIDEO: Landslide sends large rocks crashing into a hotel in Mogán

A landslide on Saturday afternoon, at around 4:00pm, sent large rocks, some up to four metres wide, crashing into the Gloria Palace Royal Hotel in Playa Amadores located in the municipality of Mogán, in Gran Canaria, as reported by Televisión Canaria.

The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) received an alert and dispatched firefighters and medical personnel to the hotel, but fortunately, as you can see in the video, the biggest one landed in a passageway leading to a car park causing damage to the parking covers, but no injuries to staff or guests of the complex.

The emergency services secured the area and ordered an inspection of the hillside to ensure that it was stable and that no other rocks were in danger of falling.
