Three arrested after being caught in the act selling drugs in Playa Las Americas

The National Police have arrested three people near the Veronicas area of Playa Las Americas in southern Tenerife, after officers caught them in the act, in two separate incidents, selling drugs.

The first arrest happened when officers observed a man conducting what appeared to be a drug deal with a woman. Upon noticing the police, the man attempted to run away and sought refuge inside a nearby cannabis club.

However, the woman was intercepted, and the drugs she had purchased were confiscated. After setting up surveillance, the officers detained the suspect inside the club, charging him with drug trafficking.

In the same operation, a pair of tourists were observed engaging with another person in the same area, seemingly arranging a visit to a nearby brothel. The police witnessed the tourists handing over several banknotes to a person who then contacted the manager of the establishment. Following this exchange of money, two small packages, believed to contain cocaine, were delivered.

The police arrested both the individual involved in the transaction and the manager of the brothel for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking. A subsequent search of the premises led to the discovery of multiple packages containing 8 grams of cocaine, 8 grams of crack, and the seizure of €669 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug sales.

All those arrested were charged and have been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities to face sentencing.

The National Police remain committed to combating organised crime and continue their efforts to dismantle any drug distribution operations in the southern region of Tenerife. Citizens who have information or suspicions regarding illegal drug activity are encouraged to report it via the email: antidroga@policia.es.
