A 14-year-old teenager has been injured after colliding with a car whilst riding an electric scooter in the municipality of La Laguna in Tenerife.
The incident took place yesterday morning (Tuesday) in the Gracia curve area of the road between Santa Cruz and La Laguna, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
CECOES dispatched the necessary emergency resources to the location given upon receiving an alert, where the teenager received medical assistance for various ‘moderate’ injuries, before being transferred to the San Juan de Dios Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
Local Police conducted the corresponding accident report.
On January 22nd, 2024, the new legislation comes into force in Spain, including the Canary Islands, governing road use of electric scooters in the country, which includes a recommended minimum age.
