As part of the ongoing roadworks and junction changes in Las Chafiras, in the south of Tenerife, a section of the southbound carriageway of the TF-1 motorway will be closed on Sunday night, 1st September, from 10pm until 6am the following morning.
This is so that the removal of the material resulting from the demolition of the old Las Chafiras bridge can take place, and traffic will be diverted to leave via exit 62, go up to the Llano Los Camellos roundabout on the TF-65, and then go back down the same road and back on to the TF-1.
The work is being carried out overnight to minimise traffic problems, particularly from the airport to Los Cristianos and Las Americas.
Last weekend there were intense tailbacks when both lanes were closed and two accidents in the diversion brought everything to a standstill. However, this time only one lane will be shut and the diversion is shorter.
