The Local Police of San Bartolomé de Tirajana were called to the Yumbo Commercial Centre in Playa Del Ingles just before 4am this morning, where they found people partying inside the Heaven nightclub with the shutters down so as not to be detected.
Officers managed to get one of the shutters open and found a ‘large group’ of people dancing to music, no masks, drinking, and ignoring social distancing rules.
Currently, all bars, restaurants, and nightlife venues must be closed by midnight under Level restrictions decreed by the Canary Islands Government, and a breach like this is considered to be a serious offence with a fine between 60,001 and 600,000 euros.
After gaining access, the agents formally identified the staff and customers then forced them to leave the premises so they could process sanctions on the club owners.
