A 21-year-old man has been arrested by the National Police in connection with a series of burglaries and fraud cases that targeted tourists in the south of Tenerife. The suspect is accused of committing six counts of burglary and two counts of fraud.
The alleged criminal activities took place during the early hours of the morning, with the suspect reportedly climbing over the walls of various hotel and apartment complexes in Costa Adeje.
Once inside the resort, he would enter apartments through open terrace doors while the holidaymakers were asleep.
The stolen items mainly included electronic devices such as smartphones, ear pods, tablets, and iPads, as well as cash and credit cards, which were later used fraudulently in shops.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of the National Police at the main station in Las Americas, the suspect was identified and apprehended, after specialised investigators confirmed that all the robberies were carried out by the same person, using the same method.
The case is currently being processed with all related evidence forwarded to the competent court for further legal action.
