A tragic accident occurred yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) on the TF-5 motorway near Los Realejos in Tenerife, resulting in the death of a 52-year-old woman, after a collision between a truck and a car as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
Two other women were also injured in the accident that happened in the direction of Icod de Los Vinos. CECOES reported that the injured women were passengers in the same vehicle as the deceased, and were taken to Hospital Bellevue in Puerto de la Cruz by ambulance for further treatment.
The two occupants of the truck, which overturned on the motorway, were assessed at the scene but were not hurt and did not require hospitalisation.
The emergency services, including the fire brigade, SUC medical personnel, the Guardia Civil, and highway maintenance services, all responded quickly to the alert to secure the vehicles, clear the road, and restore traffic flow with minimum disruption.
