Off-duty police officer rescues child wandering on TF-5 motorway barefoot in pyjamas

The Guardia Civil have released an official press release about an off duty officer who saved a young child who was found wandering in the TF-5 motorway at dawn, disoriented, barefoot and only wearing pyjamas on March 30th.

The incident occurred early last Wednesday morning, when the agent was driving along the TF-5 on his way to work, and saw that the cars in front of her were swerving over to the left to avoid something.

As she got closer she realised that there was a small child wandering on the motorway with no shoes on, wearing pyjamas, looking very scared.

The agent stopped her car and tried to talk to the boy, who ignored her, so she continued until she gained his trust to stop him from walking on the road putting his life in serious danger taking into account how busy the road is and the lack of visibility at that time of day.

After getting the young boy into the safety of her car, the officer called the Guardia Civil Operations Centre and who informed her that his parents had reported his disappearance and were looking for him with the National Police.

The parents had reported the boy’s disappearance during the night when checking on him and finding he wasn’t in the house. The boy, whose age and details have not been released, allegedly let himself out of the house on his own accord, but a police investigation is underway to confirm what happened.
