A delivery truck collided with the wall of a shopping centre in the Añaza district of Santa Cruz earlier today, reportedly after suffering brake failure.
The incident was first reported by Radio Canaria, which stated that an investigation into the exact cause is underway.
Emergency services responded quickly to the scene, and a crane was brought in to remove the damaged vehicle, while Local Police called for the assistance of firefighters to ensure the area was secure and to assess any potential structural damage.
Although the driver did not suffer any physical injuries, witnesses reported that he appeared visibly shaken following the crash. Authorities have confirmed that an assessment of any structural damage to the buildings will be carried out in the coming hours.
