1. Thank you for joining us, Mr. Markou. Could you begin by telling us how you first entered the iGaming industry?
Absolutely. After completing my Master's degree in Business Management, I spent some time exploring different sectors of the business world. I was always deeply interested in new technologies and their ability to revolutionise how we interact, transact, and experience services. iGaming stood out to me as an incredibly dynamic and fast-evolving industry — a perfect fit where I could merge my strategic acumen with my passion for innovation. Without much hesitation, I stepped into the world of iGaming, and I haven’t looked back since.
2. MyStake Casino was launched in 2020, right at the start of an uncertain global period. How did the pre-pandemic climate affect your launch plans and subsequent growth?
Indeed, the timing was quite unique. We had been planning the launch long before the pandemic hit, and by early 2020, we were fully prepared to go live. The onset of COVID-19 did pose significant logistical and operational challenges, but it also presented a shift in user behaviour. With much of the world transitioning to digital platforms for entertainment, there was a surge in demand for online gaming. While our growth trajectory had to adapt quickly, the solid groundwork we had laid helped us scale in a way that was both agile and sustainable.
3. MyStake has shown remarkable growth in a short time. What would you attribute this success to?
I would say the core of our success lies in our team’s commitment to quality and innovation. From day one, our focus was to deliver not just a casino, but an immersive and reliable entertainment experience. We listened closely to our players, adapted quickly, and ensured that every decision was user-centric. Strategic partnerships, transparent operations, and a culture of continuous improvement played equally crucial roles.
4. You’ve emphasized technology as a key driver for MyStake. How do you see Artificial Intelligence shaping the future of the iGaming industry?
AI is already transforming the landscape of iGaming, and its future role will be even more significant. From personalized game recommendations and behavioural analytics to real-time fraud detection and enhanced customer service, the potential is enormous. At MyStake, we integrate AI not just for optimization, but to ensure our services are aligned with player expectations. That alignment is key — growth should always follow the trajectory of user needs. In my view, leveraging AI to continuously improve user experience while maintaining ethical standards is where real long-term value lies.
5. In what specific ways is MyStake using AI today to enhance the player experience?
Currently, AI powers various layers of our platform. It helps us personalize content, streamline onboarding processes, and deliver fast, efficient support via intelligent chatbots. Additionally, AI allows us to proactively identify risky behaviours and promote responsible gaming. This dual role — enhancing entertainment while prioritising safety — is essential to creating a trusted, long-term relationship with our players.
6. Running a digital-first business demands continuous innovation. How do you maintain that momentum internally within the MyStake team?
Innovation is built into our culture. We promote open communication, encourage experimentation, and regularly bring in fresh perspectives. We also invest heavily in training and development, making sure our team stays on the cutting edge of both tech and industry trends. 7. What leadership lessons have you learned over the years while managing a growing enterprise like MyStake?
One of the most important lessons is that no company grows beyond its people. Leading a team means more than setting objectives — it means fostering a culture where individuals are valued, challenged, and supported. I’ve learned that listening, adaptability, and clear communication are critical. As a leader, your ability to evolve with your team often determines the trajectory of the business itself.
8. What’s your approach to keeping employees happy, motivated, and aligned with company goals?
We treat our team as partners in the vision. That means creating room for autonomy, recognising contributions, and offering tangible growth opportunities. Transparency is vital — people work better when they understand the 'why' behind what they do. Regular check-ins, recognition programs, and a healthy work-life balance are also part of our long-term strategy for employee satisfaction.
9. What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those entering fast-paced digital industries like iGaming?
First, stay curious — industries evolve fast, and adaptability is a superpower. Second, never underestimate the value of execution. Great ideas are only as good as their implementation. Third, build with integrity and user-value in mind. If you focus on solving real problems and providing real value, the business will follow. And finally, surround yourself with people who are smarter than you in their respective areas — they will push you further than you can go alone.

Our priority is sustainable expansion. We aim to enter new markets, introduce new gaming verticals, and further personalize the user journey through advanced tech.
